How To Apply This App
  • Pull the current market inventory list with a link to view each vehicle in the Vehicle Page App.
  • The list is ordered starting with the highest priced example.
  • Click to view the inventory list sortable by price, mileage and dollars per mile, and to evaluate where a price or mileage for a vehicle fits into the market inventory, using the Market Inventory Value Snapshot Chart.
  • Evaluate the average and median market price and average and median mileage for the market inventory to gain a general sense of the market’s general behavior.
  • Assess the price spread pattern by comparing the market average price to the market median price.
  • If the average price is above the median price the majority of the market inventory is priced below the average price. In general this indicates a weaker market or pessimistic sellers as most cars are priced below the market consensus of average pricing.
  • If the average price is below the median price the majority of the market inventory is priced above the average price. In general this indicates a stronger market or optimistic sellers as most cars are priced above the market consensus of average pricing.
  • Evaluate the spread between the high and low price. A large spread would indicate to use the median price for valuation purposes. A tight spread would indicate to use the average price for valuation purposes.
  • Assess general market mileage.
  • If the average mileage is above the median mileage most vehicles in the market inventory are below average mileage.
  • If the average mileage is below the median mileage most vehicles in the market inventory are above average mileage.
