Hello. I’m your host Otto M. Asian.  Welcome to the BAT Watcher for April 5 2023.

We start with a 2021 McLaren 765, L T model. With 1,600 miles, according to the listing.

In Onyx Black, with Carbon Black Alcantara interior.

There are 213, 765, L T in the SC Sage database. 66 of these are on the market. This is substantial market saturation, and a sign of a need for some price clearing.

The average market price for this model is $535,038, with 2,490 miles.

This example has been logged on SC Sage beginning in November 2022. In a remarkable price collapse, it has been offered from $559,170, down to $469,280,  in only four months. At the same dealer. It is unsold.

We forecast that this car will not sell on BAT either.

We quickly move on to a Porsche GT3 RS, 2016 in standard White. Leather Interior in Black, and GT Silver Alcantara. According to the auction listing, it has logged 12,000 miles.

There are1,530. 991.1 GT3 RS in the SC Sage database.

SC Sage shows 57 units of this model on the market. This is low market saturation, but enough volume to indicate that average market prices must fall.

The average market price for this model is $208,252, with 12,919 miles..

This example was first seen by SC Sage in December 2020. Offered at $169,990, with 9,780 miles.

Looking at the Autocheck report, the vehicle has no accidents and 3 owners. Most recently with Washington State registration.

Truth is, this one may not get bids which are a whole lot higher, than its offering price, in 2020.

Next up is a 2019 McLaren. 570 G T. Coupe in Carbon Black. With carbon black leather. It is an M S O Black collection spec.

According to the auction listing, it has logged 8,000 miles.

There are 346, 570 G T in the SC Sage database. Of these, 35 are on the market.

This is a moderately high inventory percentage of the build.

The average market price for this model is $156,137, with 13,604 miles.

We recently have seen this example in December 2022. Offered by a private seller, with the same miles, for $140,000.

It is unclear why this car has not sold. It is also not apparent that the M S O Black Collection, limited to 100 examples, commands much premium.

Looking at the Autocheck report, the vehicle has no reported accidents and 2 owners.

If this car wound up here, and could not get $140,000 in the recent past. Our guess is it won’t sell here either, unless the seller caves on price.

We now have a car which will sell. A no reserve 2020 McLaren, 720 S. This one is a spider, in Ludus Blue with Carbon Black Leather and Carbon Black Alcantara.

It has 3,700 miles according to the listing.

There are 1,929, 720 S in the SC Sage database. Of these, 1,025 units are spiders.

There are 272, 720 S on the market. This is a significant inventory saturation level.

Of the 272, 139 are spiders.

There is a reason this example is being offered at no reserve. The inventory saturation level overall for this model is 14%. For the spider alone, it is 13.5%.

The average market price for the spider is $317,452, with 6,336 miles.

SC Sage shows this vehicle at $349,999 in January 2023. Then at $309,999, a month later, in February 2023. Like many other, inventory saturated models, that wind up on BAT, there is a need to move the car.

Now offered at no reserve. Clearly the $40,000 price drop in 30 days, did not get the job done.

We conclude this edition, with a 12,000 mile, Lamborghini Gallardo. LP 500-4, coupe. In Giallo Midas, with Nero Perseus leather.

There are 339, LP 500-4 in the SC Sage database. Of these, 21 are on the market, at the time of this recording.

This is a normal market saturation level.

As an aside. Lamborghini has disclosed overall global production volume for the Gallardo at 14,022 units. However, no breakout by model was provided by Lamborghini.

The average market price for the L P 500 dash 4, is $105,881, with 33,524 miles.

In the SC Sage database, the lowest priced, public offer of this specific example. Was $94,995. With 12,200 miles. This was in November 2022.

We note that this car has been with the same dealer, since June 2022.

The selling dealer, will certainly want it. Gone. So it is likely to be sold. In this very auction.
